Reading and spelling time!
We've met all the Super Stars!!! (aka- vowels!)
Now that we have met all 5 vowels we will be spelling and reading so many more words! Below you will find all the letter friends we have met. You can click on the pictures of the letters below to print for your own copies at home. Then have your child use these letters to make words at home. Let them tell you if it's an "alien" nonsense word or a real word (it's ok if it's not spelled correctly, it just needs to sound like a real word). Remember a superstar vowel should be in the middle.

Comparing Stories
One of the skills students are working on during Literacy times is comparing stories. Children are specifically looking for similarities and differences of characters and settings. Below are two stories we read that have many similarities and differences. Have your child talk to you about what they noticed when comparing these stories.

Recess Time!
As you know e go outside each day, weather permitting. Please send your child to school with a hat and mittens or gloves each day. (Waterproof mittens are best). Snow pants and boots are required to play in the snow. Please label everything … even mittens! Students should bring snow clothes in a separate bag. The reusable shopping bags from Market Basket, Target, Trader Joes are great for this. (Please label this bag as well).
Please have your child bring hard soled slippers, crocs, sneakers, or shoes to change into for the school day. Boots are too hot and messy for children to be wearing all day long.
Zip, button, snap & tie… We’ve been noticing quite a difference with these skills over the past few weeks! The practicing at home is starting to pay off. Keep up the good work- we greatly appreciate it! ☺
***The snow gear bags may be left at school for the season if you wish- Please let me know if you plan on keeping an extra set at school.***
Enjoy the pictures below of some of the fun we had outside last week.
